Empire Covers Minicart

Businesses consistently spend countless marketing dollars each year to discover more efficient methods of creating revenue, which is why the Minicart is an Ecommerce Must-Have.

The MiniCart allows easier browsing and less intrusive shopping. You have the ability to allow the customer the accessibility they desire, attain the information they want, and experience the high level of service they deserve. All of which create an outstanding customer service relationship with the clientele.

The goal is to keep this very clean and simple for the user to see at a glance the current items in their cart. We want to make sure to include only the most important information for the product. For example we have a photo of the product, the quantity, and the price. This keeps it nice and simple and if the user needs to more details they can click to go to the full description.

Having a good shopping cart/checkout system in place is both valuable and vital for maintaining strong site conversion rates. Equally important is what happens when customers are adding products to their cart. Many shopping cart systems do one of two things when a customer adds a product to their cart:

  1. The customer is moved to the shopping cart where they see all their products forcing them to navigate back to where they were before continuing with their shopping experience. This generally becomes problematic when customers want to add multiple items to their cart to hold or compare later. With each addition, their shopping is interrupted and made more inconvenient.
  2. The customer stays where they are, but it’s not entirely clear if the product has successfully been added to the cart. For confirmation, the customer must get to the cart to ensure the items are there or risk going to checkout later only to find an item they thought they added is not there.

Both of these are problematic to the shopping experience.

Enter the Minicart, which is displayed in the top right navigation. This particular Minicart displays the product (or products) added to the cart with an option to remove or change quantity.

The Minicart on lets customers see as each product is added to the cart without taking them out of the shopping process. They can continue on seamlessly, going to the checkout page only when they are ready to proceed, which ultimately enhances their overall shopping experience.

By removing these shopping frustrations I have provided a better experience on the site, which often leads to improved conversion rates.
